Men Should Plan a Wedding!
Wedding planning is underway in the fast lane for us. We have the location, the date, and all the lovely people planned out. I have to say wedding planning can really open your eyes and hurt your heart. I swear a man should plan a wedding. They dont get attached to the pretty tree that would look great with lights and quilts draped from it and will cry when you find out the tree is being chopped down next week. They wouldn't be hung up on a place because the people were nice or the wine was tasty. They could care less if your old friend that you have known forever that lives a million miles away and wont wear purple cant make it. They would not spend many dollars on the wedding books, HOURS on the blogs, or HOURS ripping out pages in magazines. They wouldn't care about how many DIY ideas you have, what you scored at the goodwill, or even what color the invites. He would only care that you two are there, have loving family there, and it is CHEAP! The cheaper, the better for the guys. Whats funny is that is all a wedding is about. Love, family, and shared time. Who knew men were the ultimate wedding planners on a great budget???
Our Little Journey
Well it seems that ALL of my friends (even the ones that aren't tech savy) have a blog. So with me keeping up with the Jones' and all I decided to start one. I think that it will be a good idea also to vent, gush, dis, appreciate, love, and complain about all things relating to our wedding! That's right folks....in case you missed me jumping up and down and all the hub bub around town Ryan and I got engaged on Thanksgiving. I was starting to wonder if I was going to be the next cat lady in town, but Ryan came to his senses and "Put a Ring on it" and I have to say it is a beaut! 2 years ago when I started dating this "sweet southern gem" that everyone loved, I never thought that I would actually be marring and starting a family with that little shy dork! But now I cant be happier in my life that I am...I get to be my dork and we love it. Bringing Tabor into a family that have the values and the love that the Thornburg's have make me so happy to be able to say that they will be partly ours.
